- 1 quart milk
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, cut in pieces
- 1 cup enriched white hominy grits, quick or long-cooking
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Heat milk to boiling. Add butter; then add hominy grits gradually, stirring constantly. Bring to boiling and boil 3 minutes, or until mixture becomes thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add salt.
- Beat mixture at high speed of an electric mixer 5 minutes, or until grits have a creamy appearance. Turn mixture into a greased 11/2-quart casserole.
- Bake at 350 ํF about 1 hour. Serve hot.
