Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding

  • 1 small package chocolate pudding and pie filling (not instant)
  • 1 can (141/2 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • Slightly sweetened whipped cream (optional)
  • Chopped salted peanuts (optional)
  1. Empty pudding mix into a saucepan, then stir in evaporated milk and water.
  2. Cook and stir over moderate heat until thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Cover and chill.
  3. To serve, spoon into dessert dishes. If desired, top with whipped cream and peanuts.
